New work published on anti-tubercular thiophenes
Our paper titled' Synthesis and evaluation of new 2-aminothiophenes against Mycobacterium tuberculosis" was published in Organic and Biomolecular Chemistry. The best compounds showed potency (MIC = 0.20–0.44 μM) against Mtb strains resistant to isoniazid, rifampicin and fluoroquinolones. A link to the article can be found here.

SriKumar defended his dissertation and completed his oral defense today. Next month he leaves to start a postdoctoral position at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases in Dr. Barry's lab.
